If you are considering a beach holiday, chances are you are faced with the dilemma of choosing between the three stunningly beautiful island nations that the Indian Ocean boasts of – Mauritius, Maldives and Seychelles.
Each of these island countries are ideal for a beach holiday. They are surrounded by turquoise hues of blue & pristine white sands.
To choose between one of these three can be a challenging task. All three are idyllic honeymoon destinations & have the most beautiful landscapes & sparkling lagoons. However, each of these regions is different and will give you a different holiday experience.
Here is @hiphipholiday’s take on Mauritius, Maldives & Seychelles:
Mauritius—A kid friendly destination
The numero uno choice for newlyweds, Mauritius is easy to plan and has numerous activities to entice travellers.
However, did you know out of the three countries, Mauritius is the most kid friendly island destination? If given a choice save it later for your kid-friendly holidays 😉
This little island has the best water sports and a plethora of other beach activities. It is very well connected and all the beaches are easily accessible.
Mauritius is a culturally rich country. It has evolved with the outburst of tourists. The Botanical gardens, the temples, the Central Market at Port Louis, the fort, the seven coloured earth at Chamarel and the day trips to smaller islands are all bonus attractions to keep the tourist busy yet happy. The abundance of hotels with kids’ clubs offering kid friendly activities is a win-win for both parents and children.
Mauritius is all about you enjoying the wine, while the children are taken care of, just fine!
Maldives – the resort destination!!
Think of water villas, think Maldives!
Think of snorkeling, think Maldives!
Think of exotic resorts, think Maldives!!
Maldives is a one stop destination. This tropical nation is composed of 26 ring shaped atolls which are made of more than 1,000 coral islands. Most of these islands are a resort each in themselves. If you have cozy wooden rooms and relaxation on hammocks in mind, think no further.
The resorts offer a variety of water sports and most of them have their own coral reef and diving centers. Because it is a “one island – one resort” destination you get a lot of privacy. Some resorts even have designated kid-free zones.
All your beach activities , spas, food, drinks and entertainment are taken care of by the resort – so choose wisely and judiciously.
Maldives is the perfect destination for honeymooners and newly-weds. It is here that you can get off a sea plane/ferry to snorkel in your private stretch of the beach, just a few steps down your villa/room. If that is not enticing enough, you can even book yourself an adventurous and romantic day trip to a completely uninhabited island – a la Robinson Crusoe!
Maldives – Turquoise water & white sand, chilling on hammock with a pinacolada in hand!
Seychelles – The paradise destination
Have you ever imagined living in a dream? Yes! That’s what every beach at Seychelles will make you feel.
Despite having tourists flock the island nation in large numbers, Seychelles still maintains its natural flora & fauna and has kept it intact.
Home to the exclusive Coco-de-mer and the largest tortoise in the world, this heavenly island boasts of jaw dropping beaches. The beauty of these beaches is enhanced by the lime stone rock formation, making them some of the most scenic beaches in the world. If you are lucky enough, chances are you will be greeted by a rainbow on almost every day of your holiday.
The three largest islands – Mahe, Praslin and La Digue possess the most majestic beaches. However, to reach some of these stunning locales, you need to hike through picturesque trails or cycle through uneven winding pathways. Some of these paths are not easily accessible (especially with young kids). But Seychelles is undoubtedly the most dazzling island with the most alluring beaches – sights that can melt the toughest of the hearts.
Seychelles is a heavenly paradise, one where you can dream with open eyes!
